Eli J. Newman

Eli J. Newman is an Associate at Robbins Schwartz with a strong dedication to Education Law, Labor and Employment Law, and Litigation. Eli brings a unique set of strengths to his work as an attorney, combining thorough legal research with a talent for clear, persuasive writing. His working experience gives him hands-on exposure to negotiation and courtroom procedures, skills that make him a strong advocate for his clients.

From a young age, Eli was drawn to the idea of becoming a lawyer, but his career path truly took shape during his college years. While studying Public Policy Analysis, he developed an interest in public economics, municipal government, and policy but it was an internship in Madrid, Spain, working in the HR department at McDonald’s, that ignited his passion for labor and employment law. This experience helped shape his focus, leading him to pursue a career that would allow him to advocate for fairness and clarity in workplace relations.

Throughout law school, Eli expanded his knowledge by taking courses such as Employment Law and Employment Discrimination. Through these studies, Eli realized his passion for labor and employment law. However, litigation also caught his attention, driven by both a Supreme Court Litigation course and his competitive spirit honed from playing sports growing up. Eli found that litigation provided an opportunity to blend his advocacy skills with his passion for achieving justice, fueling his desire to engage in the courtroom and fight for his clients.

Outside the office, Eli enjoys golfing, photography, and running. He also finds joy in spending time with friends and family and watching sports, particularly Cleveland and Ohio State games. These personal passions ground him and bring balance to his dedicated career in law, allowing him to bring both focus and humanity to every case he handles.
