Michael A. Vargas
Michael A. Vargas is an Associate at Robbins Schwartz, where his practice focuses on Education and Labor & Employment law. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Illinois and is an active member of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois and the Chicago Bar Association.
Michael is known for his approachable style, strong communication skills, and ability to guide institutions through sensitive and complex legal situations. His commitment lies not only in resolving immediate concerns but also in fostering long-term stability for the organizations he serves, valuing the close working relationships he builds with his clients. Since becoming licensed to practice law, he has pursued a career dedicated to helping schools and employers navigate the challenges of compliance, policy, and workplace issues.
Michael earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he also completed a certificate in Labor and Employment Law. While in law school, Michael gained practical experience working at a firm that represented school districts. That opportunity sparked his passion for supporting educational institutions, and he discovered a natural connection between education law and labor and employment matters. Before that, he studied at Illinois State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
Outside of his practice, Michael enjoys staying active by running, going to the gym, and following his favorite sports teams. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he had the opportunity to play a high school baseball game at Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, an experience he still counts among his favorite memories. He also enjoys reading and continually finding new ways to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.
