Nine Robbins Schwartz Attorneys Become Certified to Conduct Leadership Training Activities for School Board Members in Illinois

Robbins Schwartz is pleased to announce that nine of the firm’s attorneys are now certified by the Illinois State Board of Education to provide school board member leadership training required under Section 5/10-16a of the Illinois School Code. Section 5/10-16a provides that school board members are required in their first year of their first term to complete a minimum of 4 hours of professional development training covering topics in education and labor law, financial oversight and accountability, and fiduciary responsibilities of school board members. The statute further states that such training is to be provided by qualified providers approved by ISBE. With the ISBE certification, Robbins Schwartz is a qualified provider for purposes of the statute.
