2025 Consolidated Election Calendar
Recent changes to the Election Code by Public Acts 103-0586 and 103-0600 have moved up or shifted the filing periods and timelines leading up to the Consolidated Election. For candidates, the period to begin obtaining nominating petition signatures began August 20, 2024, a month earlier than in previous election cycles.

Amendment to Notice Requirements in Illinois Truth in Taxation Law: What You Need to Know
The Illinois General Assembly recently amended the notice requirements within the Truth in Taxation Law (the “Law”). 35 ILCS 200/18-55 et seq. The Law requires taxing districts to estimate the amount of money needed from property taxes at least 20 days prior to adoption of their final annual levy.

Significant Amendment to Illinois Personnel Record Review Act Coming January 1, 2025
On August 2, 2024, Governor Pritzker signed into law Public Act 103-0727, which amends the Illinois Personnel Record Review Act. The amendment refines the requirements for making a valid personnel record request and expands employers’ obligations when turning over an employee’s personnel records. The amendment goes into effect on January 1, 2025. Read more here.
